Hannah and Jeff’s Summery Windmill Wedding!

Hannah and Jeff are two of the coolest people you’ll ever meet. They’re funny, sweet, gorgeous, and totally awesome so of course their wedding was awesome too. Or to use one of Hannah’s superlatives, amaze-balls. People say I use awesome way too much so I just might switch to amaze-balls. Anyway, Hannah and Jeff were married on July 24th in Look Park in Northampton, MA. Hannah is insanely creative so her wedding decor and details were either DIY or etsy made. Here’s a few of my favorites…

The bouquets and boutonnieres were made with silk flowers and buttons. They were adorable. :)
The guests found their seating by picking their names out of flower pots. Each flower was a little hand-made windmill.
The centerpieces were also windmills in cute little grass-filled pots.
The bridesmaids and the groomsmaids (all girls except for one groomsman) wore white summer dresses of their choosing. All the girls on Hannah’s side wore purple shoes and all the girls on Jeff’s side wore green shoes.
Hannah had green toile sewed under her dress to go with the green and purple theme. I loved that she made the dress her own.
Hannah’s mom is a cake artist so Hannah and Jeff had 7 weddings cakes. And they were all insanely delicious. I couldn’t help myself. I had to try a little of each. The coconut one was my favorite (and Hannah’s favorite too.)

It was an awesome day and I am so, so happy Hannah and Jeff chose us as their wedding photographers. Once again we’ve met a couple that we wish lived closer so we could hang out. They’re just so damn cool and fun that we wish they were our friends. Next time we’re in New Hampshire we’ve got to go out for drinks. Seriously.

Lisa and Adam are engaged!

Being that Lisa and Adam are an especially cool couple (I mean, just look at them!) they chose a very cool location for their shoot, Williamsburg (Photo Pink’s hood, so of course it’s cool.) :) We wandered from Bedford Ave. towards the river where the best graffiti and cool industrial warehouses are. After taking some graffiti shots we ventured into the East River Park. We were eventually chased away by some angry park rangers (they don’t like big cameras) but we got a bunch of fun pictures before we left. As we wandered we saw a really cool plant shop called Jungle. The awesome owner chick let us wander around their garden (filled with all sorts of cool plants and furniture) and take pictures. If you’re looking for a great place to get garden stuff, definitely check out Jungle. Anyway, one of the most awesome parts of the shoot was Adam’s airplane of Lisa. I have no idea how they actually accomplished a kiss but it happened. Pretty amazing.

Randy and I are so excited that we get to shoot their awesome Angel Orensanz wedding this November. Yay!

Aquabride (Megan) and Spyro’s Awesome Aquarium Wedding!

So from the first time I talked to Megan about her wedding at the Mystic Aquarium I imagined her as some sort of superhero. She was thus christened “Aquabride” and was referred to as such by all of the Photo Pink-ers. We were so excited for the day when we would finally meet Aquabride and her similarly super-hero named groom, Spyridon. They did not disappoint. Megan and Spyro were even more awesome than we had imagined. They’re both funny, kind, a little weird, and very, very cool. And they’re absolutely perfect for each other. They had the most hilariously informative ceremony I’ve ever witnessed where they told the story of how they met (where we learned that Spyro is a very smooth talker and not so smooth of a dresser) and their lives together ever since. Their reception was held inside the aquarium with awesome sea creatures everywhere you look. It was pretty amazing. Possibly the most fun place for a reception ever.

Naomi and AJ Tappan Hill Party Wedding!

Naomi and AJ know how to party. Yes, they do. This insanely in-love couple tied the knot at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown on July 4th at sunset. They had a beautiful ceremony but the fun really began at their crazy party reception. They had a great band and the kind of friends that I’m sure make every get-together awesome. One of the coolest things those friends did was hire Martin Hardy (the party painter) to make a painting of the reception. I was really impressed.

Amy & Jarred’s Pink Biker Wedding

Amy and Jarred were married on June 26th on a cloud covered day in upstate NY. They had such rockin’ style! Jarred has been working on building his motorcycle so it was one of the centerpieces of their ceremony and complemented Amy’s pink accents perfectly. Amy and Jarred opted to see each other before the ceremony so we had plently of time before and after the vows to shoot. It was such a fun time, everyone was calm and collected and Randy and I felt like one of the gang! Since we refuse to let rain ruin our picture-taking-time we decided to embrace the drizzels and start taking portraits. We got some black umbrellas, but once we got a couple shots of Amy and Jarred the clouds parted and the rain disappeared! Rain and shine, the best of both worlds! At the recpetion no time was wasted, the DJ got Amy and Jarred right out onto the floor for a non-traditional everyone get out here and party style first dance. It really was such a blast! Congrats to Amy and Jarred! Thanks for making Photo Pink a part of your awesome day!

April and Keith’s Badass Vintage-Style Florida Wedding!

April and Keith were married June 19th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort. April and Keith designed their wedding to be an amazing vacation for all of their guests (and for their photographers too!) Their wedding day started with a 9:30am ceremony on the roof of the resort followed by a very tasty breakfast (with an omelet bar and all sorts of muffins and other yummy treats.) Their reception wasn’t until 8pm. That meant that April, Keith, and all of their guests were able to spend the day laying on the beach (getting awesome frozen drinks delivered,) swimming in the ocean, floating in the pool, eating great food, or even napping; whatever you wanted to do the day was all yours. It was incredible.

April wore a gorgeous, shiny, leopard print gown with a red petty-coat (and looked absolutely stunning.) Keith looked awesome too in his plaid sport coat and black pants. His cuff-links and tie-pin were 1950′s pin-ups. They looked like the perfect 1950′s Hollywood couple.

Penny and Brian’s beautiful film-festival wedding!

Penny and her new husband Brian are an amazing couple. Smart, talented, cool, and lovely. They are experimental film-makers so instead of a traditional wedding reception, they held a reception film festival showing their work and the work of their film-making friends.

Penny’s film for Brian was truly extraordinary. Here’s Penny’s description…

“In the summer of 1977, NASA sent Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 on an epic journey into interstellar space. Together and alone, they will travel until the end of the universe. Each spacecraft carries a golden record album, a massive compilation of images and sounds embodying the best of Planet Earth. According to Carl Sagan, “[t]he spacecraft will be encountered and the record played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space. But the launching of this bottle into the cosmic ocean says something very hopeful about life on this planet.”

“While working on the golden record, Sagan met and fell madly in love with his future wife Annie Druyan. The record became their love letter to humankind and to each other. In the summer of 2010, I began my own hopeful voyage into the unknown. This film is a love letter to my fellow traveller.”

I would describe her film as an ode to intelligent love. A intellectual reasoning of why, in this age of uncertainty, marriage is still a risk worth taking. If you have 16 free minutes, please watch it. I’ve never seen anything like it. Truly exceptional. Truly beautiful.

Their wedding was completely DIY and Etsy created. Here are some of the most awesome things…

Penny’s bouquet was handmade using reclaimed fabrics and her bridesmaids assembled their own bouquets using crepe flowers from etsy sellers (and they were stunning!)
One of my favorite details was the flags that people held up as the couple walked back down the aisle.
Another amazingly creative detail was the flower girl basket filled with little paper birds cut from antique maps.
Penny’s guest chart was a work of art. It was a tree showing every guest’s name with the different colored leaves representing how they know Penny and Brian (and was made by Penny!)
One last great thing about Penny’s wedding was that her beautiful Birnbaum & Bullock gown was purchased from The Bridal Garden. It’s a non-profit bridal boutique that sells couture and top designer gowns at up to 75% off. All proceeds go to benefit children in New York City.

There was so much thought that went into making this wedding unique. Pretty amazing.

Kelly and Trent’s New York Tour Wedding!

When Kelly and Trent were planning their wedding they had to come up with a clever way to transport their guests from Central Park (where their ceremony was taking place) to the reception (at Lincoln Center.) Their solution was pure genius… they hired a NYC tour bus. Being that most of their guests were not from the New York area it was not only a cool way to get where they need to go but informative and totally fun.

While the guests were on their NYC cruise, Kelly, Trent, Konrad, and I were taking our own little photographic tour around the city. Look below for their adorable pics of Central Park (including a pedi-cab ride,) Times Square, and Rockafeller Center.

And of course one of my favorite things was that their wedding color was an awesome shade of pink. I am in love with Kelly’s awesome shoes (both pairs!)

Marisa and Adam’s Amazingly Awesome Wedding Spectacular!

So the title of this post has a lot of superlatives in it. But they are all completely necessary. As I have said in an earlier post , I love Marisa and Adam. They are awesome. And I am so incredibly jealous that Amanda got to be the photographer for their wedding. Damn. Anyway, Marisa and Adam were married on June 5th at the lovely Pearl S. Buck Estate in Perkasie, PA on June 5th. As you can tell by their pictures, it was one freaking amazing shindig.

One of the most awesome things about Marisa and Adam’s wedding was their logo. It tied all of their details together. Possibly the cutest, most appropriate logos ever designed. See below for some of its many adorably awesome incarnations.

So jealous…
